New Delhi: With a strong push towards global expansion for the Norton brand, TVS Motor Company are close to roping in Nick Rogers, the former tech head at Jaguar Land Rover, in their leadership team of Engineering and Technology. Media sources have said that he could be joining TVS next month and will be based at the TVS New Tech centre.
It is understood that Rogers’ strong pedigree and familiarity with the European automotive industry will be crucial to the global expansion of the Norton brand.
Rogers has been chairman of Israeli-based motor manufacturer EVR Motor since April 2024. Previously, he spent over two decades with Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover, where he held important leadership roles, including board member and executive director for product engineering and research.
His move to TVS Motor comes at a time when electrification in the two-wheeler space is moving fast, and India is emerging as a crucial testing ground for upcoming generation technologies.
TVS Motor have been scaling up their long-term technology roadmap, with research and development spending going past Rs 1,000 crore for the first time in FY25. The company has also earmarked Rs 5,000 crore for investments in future mobility solutions.
This strategy is gaining traction through global initiatives, including the acquisition of Engines Engineering, which has let TVS to set up a design and engineering centre in Bologna, Italy. The facility focuses on modular architectures and rapid prototyping, and forms part of a wider effort to make global engineering depth. With a talent base of above 2,000 engineers and a sharp push on digital capabilities led by internationally experienced leaders like Rogers, TVS is clearly aiming to establish a name for themselves in world-class engineering.
The company is also enhancing their global brand positioning, following the acquisition of iconic British motorcycle company Norton. Under new management, Norton has started to show its refreshed product portfolio, which re-establishes TVS Motor’s premium aspirations.
TVS Motor at present leads India’s electric two-wheeler market and continues to invest heavily in electrification and advanced technologies. Its strategy balances electric models with internal combustion and premium options in order to serve a wide spectrum of customers. It is Roger’s extensive experience that will play a key role in improving the brand’s tech-led growth strategy.
Expanding internationally remains at the core of TVS Motor’s future plans. The brand already operates across Asia, Africa and Latin America, and has recently entered European markets such as France and Italy, initially focusing on premium electric and ICE-powered two-wheelers.
