Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has accused former minister and YSRCP senior leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy of encroaching 76.74 acres of protected Mangalam Peta forest lands in eastern ghats.
In a post on social media platform X, the Deputy CM’s office said that an exclusive aerial survey has exposed the illegal encroachment. “Deputy CM visited the site, reviewed violations, briefed the CM and cabinet ministers immediately ordered a comprehensive probe,” the statement read. Kalyan also handles Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply; Environment, Forest Department portfolios.
He ordered officials to publish the names of all forest land encroachers on the department website.
Other measures include the revelations of the extent of encroachment and the status of cases on each individual.
Take strict legal action against anyone who grabbed forest land, without exceptions.
Investigate discrepancies in land records, including inflated Webland entries and false claims of “ancestral land” inside protected forest areas.
Act based on vigilance reports and legal expert guidance and digitize all land records to prevent manipulation and ensure transparency.
It came after Kalyan held a teleconference with top forest department officials on Wednesday on the acres of forest land owned by former Minister Peddireddy and his family members in Mangalampet, Punganur constituency. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has not yet responded to the allegations.
