Nandyal: A private travel bus making its way from Nellore to Hyderabad crashed into a container lorry in Siruvella Metta, Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Thursday, January 22, killing three and injuring at least 10.
The ARBCVR Travels bus carrying 36 passengers, suffered a tyre bust, causing the driver to lose control, veer across the divider and crash into an oncoming lorry. The collision sparked a massive ball of fire that engulfed both vehicles and completely gutted them.
A DCM truck driver passing by stopped his vehicle and broke the bus windows, allowing the passengers to escape. More than ten passengers sustained minor injuries after jumping out of the windows.
Nandyal accident deceased:
The bus driver, lorry driver and the lorry cleaner were among the deceased. The bodies of three victims were reportedly burnt beyond recognition, according to local media.
All the passengers' luggage was reduced to ashes. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and initiated rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the Nandyal Government Hospital.
