Visakhapatnam: A young man died by suicide by inhaling helium gas after he failed CA exam, tv9 telugu reported.
The man identified as Akhil Venkatakrishna, wrote CA exam recently and was unable to clear the exam, leading to depression and then suicide.
He rented out a room in Guntur, installed a helium cylinder, covered his face with a plastic cover and inhaled the gas, reports said. Upon being informed by the locals, police broke down the door and found his body.
In a suicide note addressing his parents, he said that he does not have a right to live after failing exams, the police said.
Speaking to Tv9 telugu, Two town Circle Inspector Erram Naidu said, “He told his parents that he was going to Bangalore and took a house on rent in a coconut grove.
Covering his face completely with a plastic cover, he committed suicide by using a pipe from a helium gas cylinder to bring the gas to his nose. The suicide note found at the scene states that he did not clear the exam and is unable to qualify as CA.”
The CI further stated that he had never heard of such a suicide. The body was shifted to KGH for postmortem.
