New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested Bandhu Man Singh, a handler linked to Canada-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, for allegedly supplying weapons and vehicles used in the repeated shootings at comedian Kapil Sharma’s Caps Café in Surrey. Singh, who had multiple criminal cases against him, was picked up from Ludhiana after returning to India on August 23, with police recovering a Chinese pistol and cartridges.
Investigators say he was attempting to rebuild Dhillon’s gang network and arrange sophisticated weapons for future attacks and that the vehicle used in the most recent firing incident belonged to him.
The arrest comes against the backdrop of a deepening gang war between two powerful networks operating across Canada, India and Dubai:
1. Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang
2. Lawrence Bishnoi–Harry Boxer–Goldy Dhillon gang
For years, these networks operated jointly. But a financial dispute between jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Canada-based Goldy Brar triggered a split, setting off an escalating turf battle over extortion territories. After the fallout, Rohit Godara aligned with Goldy Brar, while Goldy Dhillon and Harry Boxer began steering operations for Lawrence Bishnoi from Canada. The rivalry soon turned violent, with both sides vying for supremacy across continents.
One of the most brutal episodes in this conflict was the murder of gangster Sippa in Dubai, who handled Bishnoi’s illegal operations there. When he chose to remain loyal to Lawrence after the split, Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara allegedly targeted him. His throat-slit body, killed with a screwdriver, was found in the Dubai desert—an act both Brar and Godara later claimed on social media. Sippa controlled the Dubai accounts of the Lawrence network, making him a high-value rival.
Police describe Bandhu Man Singh as a crucial link in the Bishnoi–Dhillon network. While based in Canada, he supplied weapons for the gang and worked closely with Lawrence’s Canada handler Goldy Dhillon and Pakistan-based don Harry Chatta, who is believed to operate on ISI directions. Chatta is central to drone-based weapons smuggling from Pakistan into India, and Singh allegedly used this network to move arms across the border.
Investigations show that weapons for Dhillon were mainly arranged by Canada-based gangster Sonu Khatri alias Rajesh, with Singh’s assistance. The three attacks on Kapil Sharma’s café—on July 10, August 7, and October 16—were carried out by Khatri’s cousins Daljot and Gurjot, using weapons and a vehicle supplied by Singh.
The Delhi Police are now probing funding routes, arms channels, potential targets and other conspirators linked to the two rival gangs. Officials say Singh’s arrest is a significant breakthrough in exposing the expanding India–Canada–Dubai gang nexus that has increasingly spilled into high-profile violence.
