"Today, I have come to Bhutan with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that happened in Delhi last evening has deeply disturbed everyone. I understand the pain of the affected families. An explosion in a car near Red Fort on Monday evening rocked the national capital, leaving at least 12 people dead. The explosion occurred in an i20 car, and the impact damaged several nearby vehicles. Following the incident, a high alert has been sounded across Delhi-NCR, with security tightened in and around the Red Fort area.
PM Modi said that he was in contact with the agencies involved in examining this incident all night. "Our agencies will go to the very bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice," he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held a high-level meeting with heads of security agencies. Shah who visited the blast site on Monday said the government is examining all possibilities and assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out.

A major blast rocked Delhi near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, killing at least 12 people and injuring many. The blaze from the blast also spread to one or two nearby cars parked close. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "We are conducting an investigation. The forensic team has collected approximately 42 exhibits from the blast site, and it will begin lab testing those tomorrow. In these 42 exhibits, both tyres, chassis, CGC cylinder and bonnet parts of the i20 car have been recovered. The forensic team is taking swabs from approximately 42 of these exhibits to determine the types of explosives used.
Another CCTV footage of the i20 car has surfaced. The CCTV is from Badarpur Toll Plaza. The footage shows the suspect, Umar. Umar is seen wearing a mask in the video. The CCTV timestamp is 8:13 am, when Umar entered Delhi through the Badarpur Toll. Before this, Umar's i20 car was also seen passing in front of Asian Hospital in Faridabad at around 7 am.

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has handed over the probe into the Delhi blast case to anti-terror agency -- National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Woman doctor who was arrested from Faridabad was tasked with setting up the women's wing of the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in India, according to Delhi Police sources. Shaheen Shahid, a Lucknow-based woman doctor, was arrested after security agencies bust JeM's terror module in Faridabad. Shaheen is reportedly part of Al-Falah University. An AK-47 rifle was found in her car.
At least three more doctors have been detained from Al-Falah university in Faridabad in connection with the deadly blast near Red Fort in Delhi.
Speaking to media on Delhi blast, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, "It was an unfortunate incident. All the agencies are doing their work. We went to the hospital yesterday and met the injured persons. The government's support is with them, and their family should not face any problems."
The Bhutanese leadership conveyed their heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of precious lives in the explosion in Delhi on November 10 and offered special prayers for all those affected by the blasts. The King of Bhutan led a prayer, with thousands of Bhutanese, for the victims of the blast in Delhi yesterday, at the Changlimethang Stadium in Thimpu.
Home Minister Amit Shah called a meeting of officials at the Home Ministry regarding the Delhi bomb blasts.The meeting will be held at 3 pm. The first meeting took place at 11 am at the Home Minister's residence. The second meeting will be held at 3 pm at the Home Ministry.
The conspirators of the Delhi blast will not be spared as the probe agencies will get to the bottom of the case, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday.

Police on Tuesday took the mother of the man who was suspected to be driving the car that exploded near the Red Fort for a DNA test in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said here.
"We have taken the mother of the suspect to collect DNA samples in order to match with the parts found at the scene of the blast," an official said.
Senior TMC Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday condoled the deaths in the Delhi blast and attacked the Ministry of Home Affairs over what he termed as "grave lapses" in internal security.

I want to firmly assure the nation that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances," he said.

I believe that by carrying out such an incident, an attempt is being made to spoil the atmosphere of the entire country. I will appeal to the opposition leaders to speak openly against terrorism. Delhi Police have recovered a suspicious black bag near the Paharganj flyover. The bag was recovered during a search. Delhi Police have been conducting searches in three areas of Delhi since last night.
Security has been stepped up on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the wake of the Delhi's Red Fort blast. Security agencies have been placed on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir. Intensive frisking and checking operations are being conducted along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway and other key routes.
All commuters have been requested to cooperate with security personnel during checking procedures to ensure public safety and smooth movement of traffic. The public is also advised to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity or objects to the nearest police or security authority.
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Tuesday termed as "disturbing" the blast near Red Fort in Delhi that claimed nine lives, and said the union government has initiated security measures and is determined to serve justice. The JD(S) patriarch has also called on the country men to stay strong and united.
“The blast in Delhi near Red Fort is very disturbing. The union govt has swiftly put in motion a number of security measures, and is determined to investigate and serve justice,” Gowda said in a post on X.

The ASI has closed Red Fort for three days after a powerful blast inside a car near the iconic historical monument in Delhi left nine people dead.
According to sources, an investigation is underway to determine whether ammonium nitrate was used along with oil (fuel) and a detonator in the powerful explosion. However, this will only be revealed after the forensic investigation report.
So far, agencies have not found evidence from the scene of the blast that is similar to previous blasts, so the investigation is now focused on the theory of ammonium nitrate, a detonator, and oil. However, forensic teams collected samples last night, and only after the report comes, the material used in this blast will be determined.
Ammonium nitrate, combined with oil, can cause a large explosion, so agencies are also focusing their investigation in this direction. It is suspected that electric detonators was also used. However, no electric device has been found, it is suspected that a non-electric detonator was used.
The Press Information Bureau's Fact Check unit trashed as "fake" a widely circulated image—showing a massive fireball and mushroom cloud—being falsely peddled as footage from the Delhi blast. The agency clarified that the photo actually dates back to an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's Dahiyeh suburb in Lebanon on September 27, 2024.

Delhi Police conducted an overnight search operation in hotels in Paharganj, Daryaganj, and surrounding areas. The police team checked registers of all hotels. During this search, the police took four suspects into coustody for questioning.
As the probe into the Red Fort car blast intensifies, Delhi Police invoked Sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the FIR filed. These sections deal with terrorist acts and support for terrorism. "A case has been registered under sections 16, 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Explosives Act and the BNS at the Kotwali Police Station," police said.

The Forensic Science Laboratory said that samples will be taken to the laboratory and that a clue regarding the nature of the blast will be known after the examination, news agency PTI reported. "...The samples will be taken to the laboratory, and after that, only we can make any confirmation...Everything will be known after the examination...," FSL Officer Mohamad Wahid was quoted as saying.
The US State Department Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs expressed condolences over the high-intensity blast near Delhi's historic Red Fort that took place on Monday evening, leaving at least eight people dead and many others injured.

The i20 car (HR26) involved in the Delhi blast was registered to Mohammad Salman of Gurugram, who was detained for questioning based on inputs from Delhi Police. Salman told police he had sold the car 1.5 years ago to Devendra, a resident of Okhla, Delhi, and handed over all sale documents to Gurugram Police. Further investigation revealed that Devendra had resold the car in Ambala, Haryana. The Ambala Police are now probing this link, while Gurugram Police are coordinating with Delhi and other investigating agencies as the probe tracks the vehicle’s chain of ownership.

Following the car blast in Delhi, the Chandni Chowk market has been closed until tomorrow. The market is near the blast site.

Speaking to ANI, Uttar Pradesh ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash said that the DGP has issued instructions to all senior officials in Uttar Pradesh to increase security at sensitive religious sites, sensitive districts, and border areas. All security agencies have also been alerted. Police in all districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert. An order was issued from Lucknow to increase patrols and checks in sensitive areas.

A blast in an Eco Van near gate number 1 of Red Fort was reported on Monday evening.
The nature of blast is not known yet. Teams of fire brigade and police at the spot.

An eyewitness said the explosion was so powerful that nearby houses shook and shop windows shattered. "Before we could understand anything, the car in which the blast occurred and the vehicles around it turned into fireballs," the eyewitness added.
