New Delhi: The security forces have arrested a suspected ISIS terrorist, Azhar Danish, from Ranchi's Islamnagar area in Jharkhand. He was nabbed in an operation jointly conducted by Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand ATS and Ranchi Police.
According to ANI, there was a case registered against Danish in Delhi, and hence, the Delhi Special Cell was on the lookout for him. They are currently questioning the suspected terrorist. He is a resident of Petarwar in Bokaro district, and was arrested from a lodge in Islamnagar. Police have also recovered several electronic devices from the place.
The police have arrested another suspected ISIS terrorist named Aftab in South Delhi. He is a resident of Mumbai. Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha led this operation.
The Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies have raided more than 12 locations in different states of the country and have taken into custody over eight suspects. The police are bringing them to Delhi for questioning.
Notably, during the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that India has faced the grave threat of terrorism for the past four decades. He then urged all nations to raise their voice against terrorism. He also said, "We have to speak in a united voice that no double standards on terrorism will be acceptable. We have to unanimously oppose terrorism in every form and colour."
