New Delhi: MK MP Kanimozhi delivered a sharp rebuttal to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha today, countering his remarks on Tamil Nadu’s patriotism. "Tamils have never been less patriotic. We stand with this nation," she asserted, referencing CM Stalin’s rally in support of security forces post-Pahalgam attack. She accused the BJP of weaponizing history: "You exploit Tamil pride during elections but reject Keezhadi’s archaeological significance and dismiss CM Stalin’s call to write Indian history from Tamil Nadu."
PM Modi’s "Vishwaguru" Claim Under Fire
Kanimozhi challenged PM Modi’s global leadership image: "When Mumbai was attacked, the then-PM apologized. Why hasn’t Modi taken responsibility for Pahalgam?" She criticized the Centre’s approach to terrorism: "The BJP shifts relief burdens to states while failing to modernize the Army. Even officials admit our forces aren’t drone-ready—is this ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’?"
"Foreign Policy Failures"
The MP highlighted diplomatic isolation: "Trump boasts 26 times about stopping an India-Pak war, yet Modi stays silent. Two nations back Pakistan; not one supports us. Are we friendless?" She linked Sri Lanka’s contracts for "BJP-friendly businessmen" to unchecked attacks on Tamil fishermen: "Your allies jail our people daily—where’s the ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy?"
BJP’s "Extension Sarkar" Jibe
Kanimozhi mocked the government’s reliance on tenure extensions: "From intelligence chiefs to ED officers, everyone gets extensions—just like BJP’s recycled excuses for failures." She also condemned BJP MPs for victim-blaming families of Operation Sindhu martyrs, demanding accountability.
Call for Unity
Ending her speech, Kanimozhi warned against divisive politics: "Stop weaponizing religion and rewriting history. We’ll resist BJP’s ideology but uphold India’s sovereignty."
