Chennai: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has published the draft electoral roll for Tamil Nadu, revealing a significant revision in the state's voter database. According to the data released on December 19, 2025, the total number of voters now stands at 5,43,76,775. The revision process has led to the removal of 97,37,832 names, accounting for approximately 15.18% of the previous list. Among the current electors, 2,77,60,322 are female voters.

The commission has streamlined the process for citizens to verify their enrollment and apply for corrections or new registrations.

Voters have multiple channels to confirm their registration details:

  • Online via National Portal: Visit the National Voter Service Portal at 
  • Voter Helpline App: Use the official Voter Helpline App, available on both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Download PDF Rolls: Access constituency-wise electoral rolls in PDF format on the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu's website (
  • Offline Verification: Voters can personally approach their designated Booth Level Officer (BLO) at the local polling station to inspect the hard copy of the draft roll.

Lists pertaining to deleted entries—such as deceased voters, those who have permanently relocated, or untraceable individuals—are also available on the official websites for transparency.

Tamil Nadu voter list 2026: Procedure to Apply for Inclusion or Correction:

If a name is missing or details are incorrect, individuals can file claims and objections during a designated 30-day camp period.

  • New Registration (Form 6): First-time voters or those whose names are missing must submit Form 6.
  • Correction of Details (Form 8): To amend existing entries like name, age, or address, Form 8 should be filled.
  • Submission Channels: Forms can be submitted online through the Voter Service Portal or mobile app, where applicants receive a tracking ID. Offline submissions can be made with the local BLO or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) at taluk or municipal offices. Special assistance camps will also be organized.
  • Required Documents: Applicants must provide copies of proof of identity and age (Aadhaar, PAN, birth certificate, or passport) and proof of address (recent utility bill, Aadhaar, bank passbook, or Indian passport). Those applying via Form 6 must also submit two passport-size color photographs.
