India records best-ever performance in World Para Athletics Championships: Check full list of medal winners

India won a total of 4 medals on the final day of the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 in New Delhi to finish with a total of 22 medals, recording their best-ever performance in the competition's history.

India finished with 22 medals in the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 in New Delhi to record its best-ever medal haul in a single edition of the competition. India added four medals to its tally on the final day of the mega event on Sunday, October 05, to finish 10th in the medals table. India won a total of six gold medals, nine silver medals and seven bronze medals in the competition this year.

Simran Sharma, Preeti Pal and Navdeep Singh won a silver medal each in their respective events, while Sandeep won a bronze medal on the final day of the competition. Simran finished third in the women's 200m T12 category, however, her bronze medal was upgraded to silver after top finisher Alejandra Lopez of Venezuela was disqualified.

It was Simran's second medal in the competition, having won a gold medal in the women's 100m T12 event. Preeti won the silver medal in the women's 100m T35 event after finishing second with a timing of 14.33s. Sandeep bagged the bronze medal in the men's 200m T44 final with a timing of 23.60 seconds.

Paralympics gold medallist Navdeep clinched the silver medal in the men's javelin throw F41 category with his best throw of 45.46m, recording his season's best in the final. With 22 medals, India surpassed its best-ever tally of 17 medals in the last edition of the competition in Kobe, Japan. India won six gold, five silver and six bronze medals in the last edition in 2024.

Brazil topped the medals tally at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 in New Delhi, with a total of 44 medals, including 15 gold and 20 silver medals. Brazil, which finished second in the last edition of the competition in 2024, managed to better their position in the medals table this year. China finished second with 52 medals, including 13 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze medals. Iran finished third with 16 medals, including 9 gold medals.
