Anthropic launches Claude Opus 4.5 after $350 billion valuation boost

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 4.5, its most advanced AI model, following a major valuation boost to $350 billion. The new model outperforms rivals in coding, research and productivity tasks, targeting developers and enterprise users.

New Delhi: Anthropic has released its latest AI model, Claude Opus 4.5, which is the third major release in the history of the company, only two months old. The model is expected to perform well in the in-coding, computer utilisation, and complex enterprise workflows, which is another fast stride in the growing AI development competition. The introduction comes after Microsoft and Nvidia have made huge investments in Anthropic, which has recently surged its valuation by up to 350 billion.

According to the company, Opus 4.5 offers great enhancements in spreadsheets, presentations, and intensive research. It targets professional developers and those knowledge workers such as analysts, consultants and accountants. Anthropic continues that the users who desire to enhance their creativity and capacity of technical aspects will be benefited by the upper performance of the model.

Claude Opus 4.5 is the second release of Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Haiku 4.5, after Claude Sonnet 4.5 in September and Claude Haiku 4.5 in October, highlighting the rapid production cycle of Claude that Anthropic planned. According to the company, the feedback when such rapid updates are made contributes to speeding up the improvement processes and reinforcing the product development. The Claude Opus 4.1, which was the previous Opus model, was released in August.

Beats rival models in agentic coding

According to Anthropic, Opus 4.5 is a new state of the art in agentic code. The model showed better results on SWE-bench Verified than top competitors, such as Google Gemini 3 Pro and OpenAI GPT-5.1. The model was tested in a difficult engineering take-home test, which the company scored higher than any human candidate.

Together with the launch of the model, Anthropic launched a range of product updates. Claude for Chrome, where the AI is free to operate in browser tabs, is going to all Max users. Claude Excel is now accessible on the general plans, which include Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and has extensive spreadsheet editing features. The company also adds Claude Code to its desktop application and improves tools in its developer platform.
