PTI supporters protest outside Adiala jail as speculation over Imran Khan continues

New Delhi: Supporters of Imran Khan's party, the Pakistan Tehreek-i Insaaf on Friday gathered outside Adiala Jail demanding to know the whereabouts of their leader. Clashes were also reported from the scene , as supporters attacked police personnel outside the jail premises. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Sohail Afridi joined the protest after being denied a meeting with Khan.

Speculations regarding the PTI leader, his whereabouts and health condition have been doing the rounds for some time now. Earlier, his sisters claimed that they were denied a meeting with him and now his son Kasim Khan has come out with a 'X' post claiming that he and his brother have also not been able to contact their father. He claimed that Imran Khan had been put in an isolated cell, which he described as the 'death cell' and had not been seen for the past 6 weeks. He further said that despite court orders, his family had been denied a meeting with him.

Some social media handles, from Pakistan and Afghanistan had claimed that Imran Khan "might have been mysteriously killed inside the jail." The rumours however were refuted by jail authorities. Imran Khan's sister, who was protesting outside the jail, and demanding a meeting with him, was reportedly also manhandled by the police.
