New Delhi: The Indian automotive scene had been at its best in 2025. What stood out as a particularly eventful year was a barrage of new vehicle launches and significant regulatory changes. To evaluate the progress, TV9 Network organised the Auto9 Awards, bringing together a panel of 27 jury members at the Buddh International Circuit to evaluate the standout cars and bikes of the year.
Despite being around a Formula One track, it wasn’t just top speed by which the cars were judged of course. The judges examined each vehicle’s overall character, including ride comfort, technology, practicality and appeal to modern buyers. With customer expectations at an all-time high, manufacturers have turned up well with technologically advanced SUVs and more electrified powertrains, making the evaluation both challenging and exciting.
To organise the many contenders, vehicles were grouped into several categories. For four-wheelers, this included awards such as Design of the Year (4W), Performance Hatchback of the Year, Premium Sedan of the Year, SUV of the Year, MPV of the Year, Sports Car of the Year, Luxury SUV of the Year, Viewers' Choice Car of the Year and Manufacturer of the Year.
Two-wheelers were recognised across categories like Commuter Bike of the Year, Premium Bike of the Year, Performance Bike of the Year, Design of the Year (2W) and Scooter of the Year (ICE). Additionally, electric vehicle segments were highlighted with separate awards for EV and Luxury EV in cars, and EV Bike and EV Scooter among two-wheelers.
Overall, the Auto9 Awards aimed to celebrate not just performance milestones but also the design innovation, comfort, and the evolving expectations of Indian automotive customers in 2025.
