New Delhi: Electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista and Lotus Evija are some of the rarest things in the world right now. Even though electric hypercars haven’t caught on so much amidst enthusiasts, they still showcase a future where these high-performing EVs will set the benchmarks for conventional hypercars.

In this segment arrives a new specimen arrives with the Aspark Owl. It is a completely electric powertrain and comes with limited availability, making it a collector’s prized item. Japan’s first electric hypercar is now set to be even more wishful thinking, with the coming of the Aspark Own Roadster, the world’s fastest electric roadster.

The droptop comes with 1953 bhp and has “theoretically” a top speed of 413 kph, and it can go from 0-300 kph in under 10 seconds. Those figures make it in the category of extreme legal hypercar.

Under the carbon bodywork, the Owl Roadster comes with the same structure as the coupe. The powertrain is from four independent electric motors that make 1953 bhp and 1919 of torque.

The car rockets from 0–100 km/h in just 1.78 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 4.76 seconds, and hits 300 km/h in 9.74 seconds. Its projected top speed is about 414 km/h, still shy of the Rimac Nevera R’s top speed of 431 kph. For road use, however, the Owl is electronically capped at 350 km/h. Even with its extreme engineering and a substantial 69.0-kWh battery, the Roadster tips the scales at only 1,900 kg, which is notably light for an EV of this class.

It gets a carbon monocoque chassis and double wishbone suspension with adjustable ride height, making the base of the chassis, paired with carbon ceramic brakes coming with 10-piston front callipers. It also gets active aerodynamics, including an adjustable rear wing for better stability at high speeds. The Roadster comes with driving modes from Snow mode to more aggressive performance modes for performance.

The new open roof marks its identity, and Aspark says the experience brings you closest to the ultimate driving experience. It makes you more aware of the road and how it works.
