New Delhi: Ford are expanding their Bronco lineup, with their new 2027 Ford Bronco RTR targeting to deliver in high-speed desert running capability quite like the Raptor, with a little more style. For a while, Vaugh Gitten Jr’s RTR have been upgrading Ford Mustangs and Broncos, and their technique has worked.
Ford now wanted to go deep into the RTR line with a deeper product mix, with a factory-made RTR off-roader. The Bronco RTR is the logical step to increase the partnership, and the spec sheet is quite interesting.
As standard, it comes with a 33.0-inch tyre along with a high-clearance suspension system, which makes for extra lift. There are lots of Hyper Lime trim, the RTR grille, and RTR’s signature lighting treatment at the front. RTR also exchanges on a set of their Evo 6 wheels, which are beadlock capable.
Ford and RTR have taken a lot from their experience in desert racing, and that influence is reflected in terms of software updates aimed at improving turbocharger performance. The Bronco RTR benefits from off-road-focused anti-lag technology that keeps the turbo spinning in order to sustain boost pressure, which in turn makes for smoother and more predictable throttle response.
To improve the durability, Ford have equipped the Bronco RTR with the cooling fan from the Bronco Raptor. This update is typically important for sustained high-speed driving in the extreme heat, where thermal management is crucial. There’s also Ford’s Sasquatch package, which replaces the standard 33-inch tyres with larger 35-inch which, bringing the HOSS 3.0 suspension system paired with Fox dampers, which until now was exclusive to the Badlands variant.
Ford have also placed the Bronco RTR as a value-focused performance option within the lineup. The Bronco RTR will make its public appearance at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show and will also be showcased in action at Johnson Valley during the King of the Hammers event in February.
