Hyundai give details on Venue powertrain, offers diesel option
Hyundai have unveiled the Venue's powertrain and for the first time, the diesel gets an automatic gearbox and the car is coming with the usual three powertrain options, including two options in petrol as well.
New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India are close to introducing the next-gen of Hyundai Venue on November 4th and are coming with a diesel powertrain for the new car. For the first time, the brand is now offering the compact SUV in a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine, which will come with a six-speed automatic transmission, expanding their customer base.
The automatic gearbox’s addition marks a big change for the Venue. In the earlier version, the diesel variant came only with a manual transmission. Hyundai said the new automatic option have been made to meet the rising demand for the diesel automatics.
The U2 1.5-litre engine comes with 114 bhp of maximum power and torque of 250 Nm. The engine is available with a six-speed manual transmission. Hyundai have said the diesel powertrain comes with strong performance with amazing fuel efficiency, making it perfect for both urban and highway usage.
This powertrain comes alongside two petrol engines, a 1.2-litre Kappa MPI petrol engine that makes 81 bhp and 114 Nm paired with a five-speed gearbox and a 1.0-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol that makes 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque and is paired with either a six-speed gearbox or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).
Hyundai are also giving their cars features like drive modes, that are Eco, Normal and Sport for drivers to choose performance. For colours, it gets Dragon Red, Hazel Blue, and Mystic Sapphire, while the existing options are Atlas White, Titan Grey, and Abyss Blac. The Atlas White and Hazel Blue are available as a dual-tone option with an Abyss Black roof from the HX 5 trim onwards.
