New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India have unveiled the technology and safety features of the new-generation Venue before its launch on November 4th. The compact SUV introduces the carmaker’s new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system in India, a technology backed by NVIDIA, and will come with an upgraded safety suite with ADAS Level 2, along with 33 standard safety features.
The new Venue comes with a dual curved panoramic display setup comprising a digital instrument cluster (12.3-inch) as well as an infotainment touchscreen (12.3-inch). Hyundai have noted that the new ccNC system comes with seamless connectivity, over-the-air (OTA) vehicle controller updates and enhanced personalisation with 70 connected car functions and 400 embedded voice commands.
The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and will also have in-built access to JioSaavn.
The ccNC infotainment is mated with a full digital display cluster that shows turn-by-turn navigation, tyre pressure monitoring, ADAS alerts and drive modes. The new Venue will have the debut of OTA updated for up to 20 vehicle controls and doesn’t require a need for workshop visits for software upgrades.
Other features include ventilated front seats, voice-enabled smart electric sunroof, a four-way powered driver’s seat, rear AC vents, cooled glovebox and wireless charger. For Audio, Venue comes with an eight-speaker Bose sound system, with a generation amplifier.
The SUV will be coming with five languages for voice recognition, which are Hindi, English, Hinglish, Bengali and Tamil.
In the safety aspect, Hyundai have given 65 safety features to the Venue, which includes 33 features that are going to be standard across all trims. The body structure will have 71 per cent high-grade steel, and will mix hot-stamped, ultra-high strength and advanced high-strength steel for better crash protection.
The Hyundai SmartSense ADAS Level 2 suite comes with 16 driver assistance functions, like smart cruise control with stop&go, forward collision-avoidance assist (cr, pedestrian and cycle), driver attention warning, lane keeping assist, and parking collision avoidance assist, rear as well.
Safety elements include an electrochromic rear-view mirror with telematics switches, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS - highline), hill-start assist, and 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all occupants, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, an electric parking brake with auto hold, six airbags, and a surround view monitor. Further, it will also have a rollover sensor adds an extra layer of protection for passengers.
Hyundai have opened the booking of the new Venue at Rs 25,000 through their dealerships and online platform. The Venue will give direct competition to Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300 as well.
