New Delhi: Mahindra have unveiled four concepts at the brand’s annual Independence Day event. The future concepts include the Vision S, Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. Overall, it is a completely new design language that the brand is playing with. The Vision T appears to be an off-roader, while the SXT is the pickup version of the same model.
The Vision X concept SUV is the preview model from the XUV brand or the XEV range. The Vision S is likely to join the platform of the Mahindra Scorpio, which at present holds the N and Classic SUVs. The reveal comes after months of Mahindra showing small previews of their upcoming concept.
The Vision S gets the Twin Peak logo on the front, which is flanked by triplet vertically-stacked LEDs on either side, forming a bridge between the inverted L-shaped headlights. The bumper also seems to have a radar unit and parking sensors. It gets pixel-shaped fog lamps.
It comes with a limb riser on the bonnet and roof-mounted lights, although these may not be included in the production version. On the side, it gets high stance for off-roading and even gets thick cladding under the doors and on the wheel arches. Further, it has a roof ladder on the kerb side and a jerry can on the right side.
The T is a preview of the upcoming model in the Thar range and comes with a squarish bonnet with wheel arches and bonnet latches. It features a two-part grille with horizontal slats, similar to the Thar Roxx. The headlamp also has a central, squarish lighting element, accompanied by two vertical elements.
It is also the same theme for the taillights. To make it appear more off-road, it comes with all-terrain tyres and a mounted spare wheel. The technical aspects are yet to be revealed; it is expected that the model will be in production around 2027.
The Mahindra Vision X concept comes with a much more sporty crossover reminiscent design language with an upright stance and high ground clearance. The rake of the front windshield and the rear windscreen is quite like the windscreen with the spoiler, which is similar to the BE 6.
The nose has Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo, hinting that it will be an XUV model. However, the closed-off and stylish front grille does make it look like the XEV. The slim lighting elements at the front and rear, along with the front bumper and fog cluster, do make it close to the XEV 9e.
Mahindra have unveiled the new Vision SXT concept is based on the all-new monocoque modular architecture called the nu_IQ and can support both ICE and electric powertrains. The Vision SXT previews an upcoming model in the Thar family, featuring a regular SUV body style and a small, pickup-like rear section.
As a lifestyle, outdoor SUV with all-terrain tyres and high ground clearance and flared wheel arches, it comes with a split grille, squarish bonnet, and doors shared from the Vision T. While features are yet to be revealed, the nu-IQ platform on which it is based will sit as a C-segment SUV, coming with all-wheel drive.
