New Delhi: The first launch for Mahindra’s Independence Day celebrations is the BE 6 Batman Edition. The BE 6 Batman Edition comes at a price of Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom), and the bookings are to open from August 23rd with a token amount of Rs 21,000, and deliveries will start on September 20th, on International Batman Day, limited to just 300 units.
Mahindra BE 6 comes at a price premium of Rs 89,000 over the regular Pack Three variant it is based on. In what is a first in the automotive industry, Mahindra have officially collaborated with Warner Bros for the BE 6 Batman Edition.
It comes in a satin black shade that is contrasted by gloss-black finish for the body claddings on the wheel arches and bumpers. There’s even a Batman-themed decal on the front doors, and quite a lot of Batman logos are scattered around. The gold-finished Batman emblem can be seen on the front fenders, windows, rear windshield, rear bumper and wheel hubcaps as well.
The suspension springs and brake callipers are also in gold, bringing a touch of contrast to the SUV. Further, the ‘BE 6 X The Dark Knight” limited edition badge is even on the tailgate.
Inside, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is finished in shades of black, which are contrasted with gold accents. There’s even a gold finish on the halo-like surround for the driver’s seat, contrasting gold stitching for the upholstery, and it even has a limited Batman Edition plaque with numbering on the centre console.
The AC vents, key fob and rotary dial on the centre all get gold accents. It is then complemented with the Dark Knight trilogy logos on the seats, interior labels, interior door handles, the passenger side of the dashboard and on the boost button on the steering wheel as well.
The ambient lighting integrated into the panoramic glass roof is also Dark Knight trilogy themed, with the puddle lamps throwing up the Batman logo. The instrument cluster displays a Batman Edition welcome animation with Batman-themed start-up sound.
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is based on the top variant, the Pack Three, and gets a 79 kWh battery, which has an ARAI-claimed 682 km. It is powered by an electric motor on the rear axle, giving 286 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. The AC charging options even include 7.2 kW or 11 kW chargers, though they are chargeable over the ex-showroom price, in fact.
The BE becomes the newest in the Dark Edition SUVs list and the first Mahindra EV to be given the Dark Edition treatment. It is no doubt going to be on the list of many Batman enthusiasts despite being another Dark Edition vehicle.
