New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki have revealed the e-Vitara in India-spec form. The brand’s first electric car in the country will be coming with the 49 kWh and 61 kWh trim and has an ARAI-rated range of 543 km. The e-Vitara bookings are going to open soon and are scheduled for launch in early 2026. Maruti will also offer the e-SUV through subscription and Battery-as-a-Service schemes as well.
In terms of charging the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki have set up above 2,000 charging points in more than 1,100 cities across India. Further, they have partnered with 13 charging point operators (CPOs) for access to a wider charging infrastructure and aim to establish a network of over 1 lakh charging points by 2030 in partnership with their dealers and CPOs.
Maruti have claimed to have a charger available every 5-10 km, accessible through the ‘e For Me’ application. It also has above 1,500 ready workshops for service support and will offer doorstep servicing as well.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be available with two battery pack options, which are 49 kWh and 61 kWh, both will be front-wheel-driving (FWD) configurations. The ARAI-rated range for the bigger pack is said to be 543 km. The e-Vitara comes with three trims: Delta, with 49 kWh, and Zeta and Alpha trims that will get the bigger unit.
In terms of safety, the e-Vitara comes with a dual-screen display setup that mixes a 10.1-inch infotainment system and digital instrument cluster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Features include ventilated front seats, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, EPB with auto-hold and connected car functions.
The e-Vitara will be the first car from Maruti to come with a Level-2 ADAS suite, featuring lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking, among other driver aids. As standard, Maruti offers seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, ESC, ABS, EBD and front and back parking sensors. The SUV comes with a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash test as well.
