Even the centrally placed three-point star is illuminated, and it also comes in the headlight units in DRL form. The C-Class EV’s sealed-off grille comes with four horizontal slats, which the S Class flagship features in the carmaker’s sedan portfolio. There also appears to be something below this and on each side.

The teaser also gave a glimpse of the car’s back, coming with a triangular back quarter glass section, which is now softer and much more rounded in the lower corner than the sharper, more angular treatment in the current C Class.

Mercedes CEO Ola Kallenius has said that the Mercedes-Benz electric (MB.EA) for the core segment can have the C Class, GLC and E Class. He added that in future, the electric C Class is being looked for potentially having an 880 km range.

The new C Class will share the MB.EA architecture with the GLC EV, the sedan is going to have a similar set of powertrains. It means it will have a 374 bhp single motor and 489 bhp dual-motor (AWD) setups. The sedan may also go on to borrow the GLC’s 94 kWh 800V battery pack, which supports 330 kW. GLC's NMC battery takes around 24 per cent to go from 10 to 80 per cent.
