New Delhi: Toyota Camry Sprint Edition has been launched in India, coming at Rs 48.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with a dealer-level accessory kit, which isn’t coming at any premium over the regular Elegance trim of the Camry. It looks quite sporty from the outside, along with a few additional features, and retains its 2.5-litre strong hybrid engine that makes 230 bhp.
Toyota Camry Sprint Edition comes in five colour options, which are Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl, Cement Grey, Precious Metal and Dark Blue Metallic. All of the colours come with a contrasted matte black finish on boot, roof and bonnet. Further, it also has a dealer-level sports kit accessory package that has a few exterior kits. Both front and rear bumpers have a sporty-looking extension, and there is also a subtle spoiler on the boot lid with the 18-inch alloy wheels getting blacked out as well.
The Camry Sprint Edition also has ambient lighting on the inside and puddle lamps, both of which are dealer-level accessories. Features also include a 12.3-inch infotainment system and digital driver’s display, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charger, three-zone climate control, nine-speaker JBL sound system and head-up display coming from the standard model.
The Sprint Edition retains the strong hybrid four-cyling Atkinson petrol engine. It manages to make a torque of 221 Nm and 187 bhp on its own, and the additional electric motor takes the total output to 230 bhp. It comes with an eCVT unit just like all the other cars from the carmaker. Toyota have said that it can go from 0-100 kph in 7.2 seconds and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.4 kpl.
The Camry Sprint Edition is more or less just an additional accessory kit at the dealer level and, as suc,h isn’t a huge leap from the standard version.
