New Delhi: Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast is stepping up their strategy in India, viewing the country as an important market in their growth strategy. The brand is going to add the seven-seater electric MPV, the Limo Green, to their lineup in February 2026, the third model in India following the launch of VF6 and VF7 launched this year in September.
Pham Sanh Chau, VinFast Asia Chief Executive Officer, said, “The next car that we are going to launch will be around February. It will be the 7-seater Limo Green.” The electric MPV will be placed in the premium segment like the VF6 and VF7 and will likely be competing in the segment of Kian Caren Clavis EV and BYD eMax7 in India.
The launch will mark a step in the brand’s rapid scale-up in India, a market Chau have repeatedly described as critical for VinFast’s global ambitions. The Vietnamese brand started selling the VF6 and VF7 in September and has since made a 26-dealer network. Chau even pointed out that the brand plans to launch a new model every six months in the country.
Limo Green will spearhead a bigger expansion strategy for 2026. Soon after their launch, the brand intends to bring their ride-hailing service, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), to India. GSM is owned Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup.
Vinfast are also planning to enter the electric two-wheeler market in the second quarter of the FY26, bringing models from their existing lineup, which includes Vero, Klara, Feliz and Eco, to compete with the likes of TVS Motors, Ather Energy, Ola Electric and Bajaj Auto. Chau noted that the brand looks at the Indian market as having a huge potential for two-wheelers, and in 2026, the brand will enter the market.
VinFast have committed $ 2 billion of investment in India, with $500 million going for the Tamil Nadu plant in Thoothukudi, which has an annual capacity of making 50,000 cars. While Tesla is importing completely made units, VinFast is betting on localisation.
