Bihar Election Results 2025 LIVE Counting: The NDA registered a thumping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections with the BJP and JD(U) bagging 89 and 85 seats respectively. The coalition led by Nitish Kumar won 202 seats. Counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Bihar was held on Friday. The opposition Mahagathbandhan managed to bag only 35 seats, in a big setback to Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi led bloc.
Polling in the state was conducted in two phases, November 6 and November 11, and the state recorded an unusually high turnout. While it was speculated that the high turnout was for change in the state, it turned out to be pro-incumbency in favour of the ruling coalition.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the people of Bihar had given a decisive mandate in favour of development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the NDA. He remarked that voters now make their choices based on performance, and the sweeping majority for the NDA reflected their trust in the Prime Minister’s leadership. Dhami added that people in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and other poll-bound states are prepared to reject what he described as the Congress’s “lies and deceit.”

The BJP on Friday hailed the NDA's performance in the Bihar Assembly polls, saying people have once again expressed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "development-focused" politics. The JMM faced discrimination at the last minute of the seat-sharing arrangement. We were supposed to get seats to contest, but these seats were not given to us.
