Tirupati: Heavy rain lashed Tirupati district due to Cyclonic storm Ditwah on Tuesday, December 2.
Mallam in Tirupati district received the highest amount of rainfall 96.5 mm followed by Chittamur, Allampadu, Tada, Vidyanagar all in the same district. Palasamudram in Chittoor district received 92 mm and Kakarlamudi in Eluru received 50 mm. Light rain was also seen in Konaseema, Kakinada, West Godavari, Nellore districts.
APSDMA forecast:
Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has said that Cyclone Ditwah remnants in the southwest Bay of Bengal, which had made landfall on the northern Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast, has weakened into an intense low-pressure system.
Due to its impact, heavy rain is likely in Nellore and Tirupati districts today, and light to moderate rain in the remaining districts.
Meanwhile, the IMD in its forecast issued a yellow alert for several districts and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squally winds with wind speed 35-45 kmph gusting up to 55 kmph is likely over the next few days. Heavy rains are likely in Tirupati and Nellore, as per IMD forecast.
Hyderabad weather forecast:
The weather department has said that fog and misty conditions will prevail in the morning hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 28 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
Light to moderate rain may occur in Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Nalgonda and Gadwal. However, dry weather is likely to prevail over the next few days.
