Can never forget moments spent with Sathya Sai: PM Modi pays tribute to Puttaparthi Sai Baba on centenary

PM Modi's visit comes a day after the centenary celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba kicked off in Puttaparthi.

Sathya Sai district: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan visited Prashanti Nilayam in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday morning, tv9 telugu reported.

PM Modi’s visit comes a day after the centenary celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba kicked off in Puttaparthi. The procession of the 9.2 kg gold Sathya Sai idol on a 31.8-foot silver chariot was a special attraction on Tuesday. Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh ministers and MLAs participated in the chariot festival.

‘Had opportunity to converse with Sathya Sai Baba’:

Ahead of his visit, PM Modi posted on social media platform X to reminisce about their interactions. “His life and efforts for social service and spiritual upliftment will serve as a guiding light for generations. Over a few years, I have had various opportunities to converse with him and learn from him.”

He is expected to unveil a 100 rupee coin with Sathya Sai's image and four Sathya Sai postal stamps to commemorate Baba's life, teachings and services.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi will distribute cows to poor farmers for free. Tight security arrangements with 3,000 police personnel have been made during PM Modi's visit.

Sri Sathya Sai District SP said that more than 300 CCTV cameras and tens of drone cameras have been put in place to keep a close watch.
