New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced prize money of Rs 21 crore for the Men in Blue after they won a nail-biter contest against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 28.

India defeated Pakistan by five wickets to lift the Asia Cup title for a record ninth time. Tilak Varma played a gem of a innings, scoring unbeaten 69 runs in a big final day against arch-rivals Pakistan.

After winning the tournament, BCCI announced 21 crores prize money to be distributed among players, coaching and support staff and team officials for their valiant effort in winning the Continental Cup.

BCCI announced the prize on their social media and also came up with a scarsctic post quoted as "3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered."


India defeated Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup 2025, which is the most times India has beaten Pakistan three times in a multinational tournament. The win in the finals was the most difficult victory for the Men in Blue, as Pakistan had put them under pressure after picking up wickets in quick succession in the powerplay.

India refuse to take Asia Cup trophy from PCB cheif Mohsin Naqvi

India refused to take the Asia Cup title from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi. The post-match presentation was delayed by an hour because India maintained a 'no handshake' policy and no off-field engagement with Pakistan's representative.

Pakistan team collected their runner-up medals and prize money from Naqvi but after that presentor Simon Dhull announced that India will not be collecting any trophy or award tonight and concluded the post-match ceremony.

According to reports, after India refused to take the trophy from Naqvi, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief took away the Asia Cup trophy with him, and Indian players posed in front of cameras without medals or the trophy.
