New Delhi: To celebrate 50 years of the BMW 3 Series, BMW India have introduced the ‘50 Jahre’ Edition of the BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase and BMW M340i. Manufactured locally at the BMW Group Plant Chennai, only 50 units of each ‘50 jagrew’ Edition of the 330Li and M340i will be made available exclusively at the BMW Online Shop.

The ‘50 Jahre’ Limited Editions of the BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase and BMW M340i are our tribute to this heritage. They are an ode to the unmistakable design, dynamic performance, and perfect balance of everyday practicality with cutting-edge technology that have made the 3 an icon for driving enthusiasts. It’s a celebration of the journey so far and a promise of many more thrilling chapters to come.”
For the special occasion, customers of the BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre’ Edition will also get a 1:18 scale model of the BMW 3.0 CSL. Launched in 1975, the BMW 3 Series carved out a new segment for itself and became one of the top-sellers of premium cars. It came as a sporty saloon with agile handling.
The BMW 3 Series Long-wheelbase came in 2021 and is now available with ‘50 Jahre’ Edition, which is given loads of both aesthetic and functional upgrades. Outside it comes with the M High-Gloss Shadowline, with the kidney grille, window surrounds, rear diffuser and tailpipes in high-gloss black, which makes it quite sporty to look at.
Inside, it features a carbon fibre interior trim, along with the BMW Head-up display and 3D Augmented View navigation. On the B-pillar, it comes with ‘1/50’ badging showing the exclusivity of the edition. It gets the usual two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 258 bhp and a maximum torque of 400 NM and can go 0-100 kph in 6.2 seconds.
BMW M340i was launched in 2021 and is still the quickest ICE car made in India, doing 0-100 kph in just 4.4 seconds. It is also the highest-selling performance car sold in India, with more than 1000 units sold to date. In the ‘50 Jahre’ Edition, it comes with the laser-engraved 1/50 badging on the B-Pillar. It even features the ‘50 Jahre’ emblem on the front and rear, special ‘50 Jahre’ hubcaps, along with M badging and M340i model badging in high-gloss black. Additionally, customers will receive an M Performance Key fob.
It comes with 19-inch Jet Black Alloy Wheels in 995 M styling with Red M Sport Brakes Callipers, which give the car’s road presence an enhancement. It is still powered by a 2,998 cc straight-six petrol engine, which makes 374 bhp and 500 Nm of maximum torque.
Both are collectables marking a huge milestone in the company's existence, with the 3 Series putting the company on the map for many.
