New Delhi: Renault are closing in on refreshing their subcompact SUV lineup, Kiger, with a facelift. The Kiger is going to make its official debut on August 24th, and the upgrade comes right before the heaving festive season and will follow the brand’s refreshed Triber.

Of what has been revealed so far, Renault are taking a much more evolutionary approach, with Kiger’s sporty look still intact but enhanced to give it a better presence with some changes. The front is likely to get a redesigned grille, sleeker headlamps and much sharper bumper details as well.

On the back, revised C-shaped LED tail lamps and could even get some new paint options. The facelift will also mark the introduction of Renault’s new multi-diamond logo on Kiger, which replaces the single-diamond badge.

Renault Kiger facelift expected features

On the inside, the cabin is going to have a huge upgrade for both tech and comfort. There is going to be a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, sized most likely at eight inches and is going to be the centrepiece that will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is also likely to come with a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and improved upholstery.

On the powertrain terms, it is likely to retain the engine options, meaning it will get the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol with manual or AMT gearboxes, along with the more punchy 1.0-litre turbo-petrol paired with manual or CVT transmission. Most of the upgrade is focused towards features rather than any mechanical upgrade.

The Kiger will continue to face competition from Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Nissan Magnite. It is going to come with a slight price hike from the current model due to the feature upgrade, and will likely start booking around the launch date.
