New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor have made fresh hikes of up to Rs 26,000 on the Taisor SUV along with Rumion and Innova Crysta MPVs. This follows after the brand had previously raised the price of Fortuner by Rs 68,000. However, there are no changes made to either the features or the powertrains of these cars.
Even Maruti has more recently raised the prices of Ertiga and Fronx, which have made upgrades to their safety features, with both cars getting six airbags as standard. However, Toyota, while selling rebadged versions of these cars, doesn’t offer these upgrades following the price hike.
The Toyota Innova Crysta, one of the last standing diesel MPVs in India, is powered by a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder motor producing 150 bhp and has a peak torque of 343 Nm. The rear-wheel drive comes with a five-speed manual gearbox, and the diesel has a mileage of 15.2 kpl. Toyota have made a price hike of up to Rs 26,000 variant-wise price hike.
The Toyota Rumion is a rebadged Maruti Ertiga and has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103 bhp and 137 Nm. It also has a CNG kit, but the power goes down to 88 bhp and 121 Nm. Both fuel options get a five-speed manual transmission, and the petrol even comes with a six-speed torque converter automatic. The price hike has seen a variant-wise rise of up to Rs 12,500.
Like the Rumion, the Toyota Taisor is rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx and hence gets a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 90 bhp and 112 Nm. It also has a 1-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor that produces 100 bhp and 148 Nm. The 1.2-litre can even be paired with a CNG kit that produces 77 bhp and 98.5 Nm of torque. It gets a five-speed manual transmission as standard with the 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre Taisor getting five-speed AMT and six-speed AMT respectively. The price hike is the least here coming with a Rs 2,500 variant-wise hike.
