Hyderabad: Naveen Yadav, who contested on Congress party ticket, defeated BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha in Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency and won the race with a significant margin.
Yadav secured 98,988 votes and defeated the BRS candidate with a margin of 24,729 votes on Friday, November 14, the election commission said.
Electoral journey:
He joined the AIMIM in 2009 and in 2014, he contested the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency on an AIMIM ticket and lost to the BRS candidate.
He ran in the constituency again as an independent candidate in 2019, garnering about 18,000 votes.
He joined the Congress party in 2023 and was the in-charge of the JH constituency, solidifying his presence there.

According to the affidavit he declared during his nomination, he has assets worth Rs 30 crore and seven criminal cases against him. His spouse Varsha Yadav, declared Rs 8 crore, along with Rs 75 lakh liabilities.
He holds investments in Naveen Praveen Developers Ltd, Kasturi Naveen Infrastructure Private Ltd, YJR Infra and Relators LLP. He has also declared multiple agricultural and non-agricultural properties spread across Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Hyderabad districts.
His declared income for FY 2024-25 stood at Rs 19.51 lakh while Varsha Yadav’s income for FY 2023-24 stood at Rs 7.82 lakh.
Yadav, who is a native of Hyderabad, holds a Bachelors degree in architecture from CSIIT, Begumpet, which he completed in 2007.
