Hyderabad: Passengers at Hyderabad Airport staged a protest on Friday night after Hanoi-bound Vietnam Airlines flight failed to take off, videos from the airport showed.
The flight, which was supposed to take off at 11.55 pm, was delayed by 10 hours due to a reported technical snag. The delay led to an argument between the passengers and the airlines staff, seeking reasons. The tired and frustrated passengers expressed anger as the airline was unable to give a clear answer to their questions or make alternative arrangements.
‘Female passenger: Spent over 3 lakh on the trip’
Talking to the media, a female passenger said, “Me and my husband are here. We paid almost Rs 2.7 lakh for the trip along with Rs 70,000 for the flights. With visa, hotels, we spent Rs 3.5 lakh. Now they are not able to give a clear answer about when the flight will start. It seems like it is indefinitely postponed or cancelled.
They are saying they will give us accommodation and will get us on the next flight scheduled two days later but they say that no hotel has this many number of rooms. There is no clarity. They are holding our luggage and we are having to bear this after paying all that money.”
