Narayanpet: A man reportedly killed his two children and later attempted suicide in Teelair village of Marikal mandal, Narayanpet district in Telangana, tv9 telugu reported.
The accused identified as Shivaramulu, killed his children – Ritika, 9, and Chaitanya, 6, by hanging them to death. He was enraged over his wife’s refusal to return home, police said.
After murdering his children, he disposed off their bodies in Yapal Cheruvu (lake). He later attempted suicide by holding live electric wires but the attempt failed. He fell unconscious after consuming insecticide. He was rushed to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for treatment by the locals. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain further details, police said.
Infant found dead in dumpster:
In a separate incident in Mailardevpally in Hyderabad, an infant girl’s body was found dumped in a roadside dumpster on Monday, January 5. The baby was approximately seven-months-old and her body was found by a sanitation worker while cleaning, as per Mailardevpally police Inspector B Satyanarayana.
“The baby’s body may have been dumped after her death. The cause of death will be known only after post-mortem,” he said.
Police are examining CCTV footage of the surrounding area to ascertain the identity of those who dumped the body. The inspector said that the CCTV cameras captured the movement of bikes in the area during the night but they are yet to identify responsible individuals.
