Hyderabad: The cold wave is expected to return to the state from January 6, after a week-long respite over the New Year.
As per the India Meteorological Department, fog and misty conditions will prevail in some pockets of the state during the next two days.
Kohir in Sangareddy recorded 10.5°C over the 24 hours while in the GHMC area, University of Hyderabad recorded 11.2°C. Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, will likely see temperatures in the single digits, between 5-10°C and Hyderabad will likely see temperatures above 15°C, the IMD said in its forecast.
Meteorologists say that unlike the previous cold wave, temperatures will remain low through the day. Temperatures will likely hover around 25-26°C, which is less than the seasonal average.
Dense fog across Telangana:
Dense fog has blanketed the state, especially the stretch of Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Shamshabad-Bengaluru Highways over the last two days. Areas around Outer Ring Road (ORR) are also among the worst affected and visibility has dropped below 10 metres.
Reduced visibility may affect travel and cause issues in both urban and rural areas.
